Management Accountant
(Internal Job Level Reference: Specialist)
Wilmslow • Hybrid • £37,000–£42,000 + bonus + benefits
Zest4 (part of Focus Group) is looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, and maintaining strong financial controls.

What you’ll do
- Prepare monthly management accounts, reporting into Group in line with set timelines
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts
- Produce and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
- Provide clear commentary on financial performance and key variances
- Maintain accurate ledgers to reflect the current business position
- Support the Finance Director and Senior Leadership Team with financial insights
- Work with group colleagues and external advisors, supporting audit and strategic initiatives
- Run and review control reports (e.g. aged debtors/creditors, cashbook)
- Support the wider business with finance processes, ensuring clarity and consistency
- Handle large volumes of financial data with a high level of accuracy
What you’ll bring
- Experience producing management accounts from trial balance
- Understanding of finance systems / ERP platforms
- Working knowledge of VAT returns and financial controls
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a finance role
- Part‑qualified (or working towards) accounting qualification
- Strong numerical, organisational, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Nice to have
- Staff management experience
- Experience within the telecoms or technology sector
- Experience with Sage or Microsoft Dynamics 365
