Role Description:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Delivery Lead, this opportunity is open to applicants who possess a technical background in Maritime Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering. Based in Adelaide, the position offers a permanent, full-time (or part-time) opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career specialising in manufacturing engineering systems within a shipbuilding production environment.

Core Duties:

  • Develop installation strategies for complex maritime systems within a shipbuilding environment.
  • Act as a technical expert supporting installation, testing and issue resolution.
  • Investigate technical issues and perform fault finding across integrated ship systems.
  • Develop production documentation, manufacturing instructions and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, planning and quality stakeholders.
  • Supporting equipment integration from delivery through to testing and commissioning.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, Diploma or other relevant qualifications will be considered.
  • Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with evidence-based approach to problem solving.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for delivering engineering solutions from installation through to commissioning.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) regulations.

Note: Applicants who possess either a diploma in engineering or higher degree will be considered. Experience in shipbuilding is considered favourably and if suitable, will be considered in lieu of other qualifications.
