Role Description:

As a Network Engineer reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Lead, you’ll play a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting the Osborne and the Hunter network infrastructure, with a strong focus on day-to-day operations and continuous improvement.

Core Duties:

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assigned support incidents, outages, and performance degradation
  • Configure and manage network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Perform network upgrades, patches, and changes in line with change management processes
  • Identify opportunities to enhance systems and processes, driving efficiency and technological innovation
  • Assist in specifying, designing and implementing aspects of the WAN and LAN networks that meet or exceed industry standard best practices
  • Provide network consultancy and assistance to customers, in the design, set to work & troubleshooting of networks & customer deliverables
  • Implement and maintain network security controls including segmentation, access controls, firewall rules, policies, and best practices
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and asset records

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience + vendor certifications) preferred
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills demonstrated through decision-making and problem solving
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network and connectivity issues
  • Solid foundational knowledge of networking protocols and functions
  • Ability to contribute to and thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written forms
  • Experience with WAN, LAN, VPN and Wireless technologies
  • Experience with various firewalls, knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls is desirable
  • Experience with Citrix NetScalers, VMWare NSX is desirable
  • Experience with SDN, Cisco ACI, Cisco WLC, Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA Centre are desirable
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CCNA, Network+, or equivalent experience) desirable but not essential
  • Defence security clearance (NV1) or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
