Job Title: Bank/Relief Worker

Location: Based within the heart of Croydon, close to East Croydon train station. Unfortunately this service does not have step free access

Salary: £14.80 per hour plus 12.07% annual leave accrual 

Shift Pattern: Flexible working - choose your available shifts!

About the Role

Join our Bank work force to support our residents who have forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. You will be able to choose shifts that work within our own personal schedule, to support the wider team to provide person centred support to help residents overcome challenges and achieve their goals. You will contribute towards building support plans, activities, and partnership working to enable residents to achieve their goals.

Please note that this is a flexible role, we are unable to provide consistent rotas due to our resident needs and service requirements. 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
• Providing safe, 24/7 short-stay support to avoid unnecessary hospital admission
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
• Embedding Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs) and relational security.
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for colleagues for a seamless service
• Supporting residents with taking their correct medication; Keeping support plans up to date using our online portal
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns when needed.
• Support residents with taking their medication and keep accurate records. Build good working relationships with colleagues and outside agencies.

About You

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes forensic mental health. You will be able to build professional and trusting rapport with others, and work towards achieving positive outcomes, using a flexible and adaptable approach that recognises each individual’s unique and varied support needs.

• Experience working with people with complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviour and an understanding of housing and social needs
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
• Cultural awareness, Self awareness, and ability to identify personal growth areas and take feedback
