Actuarial and Consulting
Join Isio as an Actuarial and Consulting Graduate Analyst and build the analytical, consulting and communication skills needed for a career in pensions. You will work with experienced colleagues on real client projects, helping employers and pension scheme trustees understand their financial commitments, manage risk and make informed decisions.

You will be employed on a permanent basis from the start and supported to study towards qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

You do not need previous pensions or actuarial work experience. We are looking for your potential, interest in the work and willingness to learn.

• What does the role entail?
• Apply actuarial concepts to calculate the value of pension and other benefits for employers and pension scheme trustees
• Build financial models and carry out risk analysis to help clients understand future pension commitments and key risks
• Support advice on pension strategy, day-to-day risk management and longer-term objectives
• Help clients understand accounting, tax and legislative changes that affect their pension schemes
• Prepare clear analysis and communications for colleagues and clients
• Attend client meetings, explain the team's work and follow up agreed actions
• Contribute to proposals for new business and share ideas that could improve the way we work

We will assess these behaviours in a structured and consistent way during the recruitment process.
Training and development
We provide combined structured learning, practical experience and ongoing support. You will develop technical, business and professional skills through on-the-job learning, formal training and hands-on client work.

• Support from a Performance Manager with your development and progress

Length of training
It is expected to take around three to five years to achieve full qualification as an Actuary. You will be employed on a permanent basis from the start of your graduate role.
Working pattern
This is a hybrid role based in our Manchester office.

Expected office attendance, including the first few months is four days per week minimum in office and then two/three days a week in the office moving forwards.

The pattern will reflect client, team and learning needs. Reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate.
Entry requirements

• You must have completed an undergraduate degree or higher-level qualification by 20 September 2027 and achieved a 2.1 or higher. If you are in your final year, you should be on track to achieve this
• We welcome applications from people studying any subject
• If you have studied a non-numerical degree subject, you must have achieved Mathematics at A level grade B or higher, or an equivalent qualification
• Studying towards the actuarial exams requires strong mathematical skills and an interest in financial concepts.

Recruitment process
The recruitment process will include;

• online motivation and competency questions requiring video and/or written responses
• review of your application assessing your potential to be successful in this role
• an interview, in-person, with Managers in this role in the office you have applied to be based in

We will explain what to expect before each stage. The process will assess your motivation, numerical and problem-solving skills, communication, teamwork and approach to learning. It will not assume previous pensions knowledge.
