Duration: 12 month Fixed Term Contract with the potential to be extended or made permanent.
Location: This role is based in The Quadrant: Milton Keynes with 3 office days per week. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75 minutes.
Band & Salary: Band 5 £29,000 - £32,000
About the role
What does the average day look like?
On a typical day, you'll be supporting the delivery of lift and escalator maintenance and project work, helping the team to achieve key objectives and performance measures. You'll play an active role in monitoring safety standards, ensuring contractors meet their obligations, and keeping accurate records across our systems and databases. Your work will involve collating and analysing commercial information, tracking contractor performance, and supporting the certification of works and payments in line with contracts.
About the team
Engineering Services is a function within Route Services. We sit as a central team to provide national skills and activities which enable regions and industry partners to deliver the railway for our customers.
As a large central functional team which focus on engineering delivery, we have many roles, ranging from pure engineering to project management. We design and influence every part of the railway, including structures, track, traction power, level crossings, signalling and accessibility schemes which are essential to keep our stations moving.
Your experience and skills
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a well-organised and proactive individual with experience in supporting contract management functions or finance/commercial experience of high-value contracts, ideally within a large infrastructure or transport environment. You will be confident in coordinating contractors and stakeholders, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to health, safety, and compliance are essential, alongside the flexibility to travel nationally when required.
