JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Maintenance Operation Control Supervisor works in a highly challenging yet equally rewarding environment, playing a key role in generating aircraft for the RSAF customer. The role is therefore extremely high profile and involves interfacing with other departments and the RSAF on a daily basis. Work involves a balance between the coordination of multiple trades to rectify both routine and complex engineering issues and the responsibility for accurate recording and reporting of aircraft issues which are then communicated to both the RSAF and BAE Systems Management.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for coordinating multiple trades of maintenance personnel in order to rectify aircraft issues in the quickest possible time.

• Constant communication with the RSAF Maintenance Operation Control Centre; gathering the latest information on the state of the RSAF Tornado fleet.

• Determine the validity of RSAF Line Technical Support requests in accordance with the SFA Statement of Work and local Concept of Operations.

• Produce daily reports on the RSAF Tornado fleet with regards to maintenance classification e.g. (Non-Mission Critical Supply, Non-Mission Critical Maintenance, Fully Mission Capable & Non-Possessed)

• Planning shift patterns to ensure manpower is both utilised effectively and is adequately staffed to ensure the Maintenance Operation Control Centre can provide a service 24 hours per working day.

• Attend daily morning meetings, briefing members of the RSAF and gathering information on unserviceable aircraft.

• Coordinate on behalf of the Tornado Maintenance Servicing Centre; the preparation / collection / delivery of servicing aircraft, the provision of aircraft refuelling / defueling and emergency services cover for engine ground runs.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

• A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA,

OR

• Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA.

• Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.

• Extensive aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal recorded

workplace applied related training OR some experience on same aircraft type.

• Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.

• A working knowledge of Part M, Part 145 and the relationships between partner organisations.

• Awareness of human factors and human performance issues.

Desirable

• Relevant type training (“Q” Course) and equipment specific training if required.

• Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.

• Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.

• Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.

• Understand and use Maintenance GoldESP system or similar platform.

• Hold a current driving license
