Job Title: Jet Engine Maintenance Technician

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Performs and supervises aircraft maintenance, components and Bay support activities to the Engine, Propellor and Fuel Systems. Provides On the Job Training (OJT) function and Production Inspections. Troubleshoots, inspects, removes – installs, repairs, modifies, and operates all Engine, Propellor and Fuel aircraft systems, components and associated support and test equipment.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Maintaining good engineering practice and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Jet Engine / Fuel Shop
· Prepare items for calibration within his work area
· Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed
· Have a thorough knowledge of Aircraft Safety devices and Aircraft operating areas
· Ensure compliance with tool control and the KFAA SAFO program
· Support deployments to other bases within and out of KSA when required and be able to prepare equipment to support these deployments
· Act as MIIP on any aircraft or ground support technical related issues
· To provide technical activities in support of KFAA mission statement and aircraft servicing programmes through carrying out Workshop support equipment: servicing, fault troubleshooting / rectification, modifications, inspections / evaluations of components / test / support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
· To provide technical specialty support in the: evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems, components, test – support equipment at the Intermediate level maintenance.
· To provide informal and formal On the Job Training (OJT) for both RSAF and BAE Systems Saudi National personnel to enable either RSAF or civilian Saudisation of PC9/PC21 Intermediate Maintenance operations.
· To obtain and maintain certifications to support speciality and aircraft maintenance functions.
· Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system –MIRO Gold.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA or Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA and Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
· Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR significant years on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
· Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
· Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
· Must hold a current Valid SEC membership.
Desirable:
· Broad Aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
· An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures.
