Role: Receptionist

Location: Trinity Arts & Leisure- Bedford

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,467 and £28,482 (pro-rata) per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 20 hours/52 weeks

Contract Type: Permanent

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Receptionist to join our Estates & Facilities department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Receptionist, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Reception & Customer Service - Deliver a professional front-of-house service, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of reception and providing information and support to students, staff and the public.
  • Administration & Bookings - Maintain accurate membership, booking and attendance records, process class, event and facility hire bookings, and support wider administrative activities across the site.
  • Sales & Event Support - Promote facilities, memberships and events to maximise participation and income, while supporting the successful delivery of events through effective coordination and communication.
  • Compliance & Safe Environment - Maintain a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment, adhering to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork & Continuous Improvement - Uphold the values of Bedford College Services and The Bedford College Group, contribute to continuous improvement and customer excellence, support work placement students, and engage proactively in training and development

About you:

  • Customer Service & Communication - Deliver excellent customer service through strong interpersonal skills, a professional approach and effective communication with a wide range of customers.
  • Administration & Systems - Use booking systems, tills and Microsoft Office applications to manage bookings, payments and administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Organisation & Reliability - Demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while remaining calm under pressure.
  • Teamwork & Professional Standards - Work flexibly as a reliable team player, promoting inclusion, respect and continuous improvement while maintaining safeguarding, health and safety and customer service standards.
  • Leisure Industry Knowledge & Flexibility - Bring experience of leisure, hospitality or similar customer-facing environments, with the ability to work evenings and weekends and an interest in fitness, wellbeing and community engagement.
