Responsibilities:
· Standard BAU activities, SQL monitoring, performance tuning using profiler and extended events
· Disaster recovery experience, knowledge of SQL recovery types
· TSQL scripting
· High availability with ‘Always on’ availability groups
· SQL migration activities
· Experience with SQL versions 2008R2 to SQL2019
· Lead creating and maintaining storage design, archive, backup and recovery activities, plans and procedures
· Lead designing, creating, maintaining and monitoring database instances
· Security, access and reporting methods
· Develop and Implement procedures and monitoring processes to ensure data integrity, availability and validation
· Provide consultancy and support on new technologies to improve the functionality or the efficiency of databases
· Support technical support team on database design, development and maintenance as required
· Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
· Map out the conceptual design for a planned database in outline
· Refine the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model
· Monitor the process of further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements
· Oversee Installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
· Liaise and coordinate related work stream with IT project managers, database programmers and application developers
· Review the design and development of SQL queries, stored procedures, views, DDL DML commands as and when required
· Ensure proper Communication regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and optimisation
· Ensure all procedure documentations and guide manuals are in place
· Ensure to report on availability, performance and capacity aspects for all DBs and related infrastructure components
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in IT preferred
· Relevant IT certificates
· Knowledge about IT Service Framework
· A minimum of 3 – 4 years of experience in a similar setup is a must with preferably 1 year in a supervisory role
· Fluent in Arabic and English
