Salary: Up to £71,000 dependent on skills and experience

Job Description:

In this role, you will lead in analysing local business Product Configuration processes to tailor functional driven guidance, Information Management Technology solutions (in the form of requirement specifications) & training that ensure the overall configuration of product information is maintained. This includes involvement in Planning & Management, Identification & Breakdown, Change Control, Status Accounting, Verification & Audit and preparation of Engineering Baselines.

Core duties:

  • You will be responsible for the effective implementation of Configuration Management plans and policies.
  • You will develop and implement appropriate tools, processes and practices as articulated in the River Class Destroyer Programme (RCD) Product Configuration Management Plan
  • You will develop the respective Configuration baselines in alignment with the design review strategy and sharing these baselines with the wider RCD project
  • You will lead the configuration team through business change with clarity, encouraging continuous improvement. This includes acting as a change agent, helping the team adapt to new processes or tools

Essential Skills:

  • You will be degree qualified and a member of appropriate professional institution
  • You will have proven experience in Configuration Management (CM) toolsets and CM practice
  • You will showcase previous experience leading or coaching a team, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels

The Product Configuration Management Team:

The Product Configuration Management team bring complex warship engineering product knowledge and experience to the Programme. This will be the lead role in ensuring the contractual requirements are being satisfied through effective implementation of Product Configuration Management (CM) practices and processes.
