About the role:
We are currently seeking a King’s Trust Development Worker to join our Adult & Community Learning & ESOL department at The Bedford College Group.
As a King’s Trust Development Worker, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Learner Support & Skills Development – Supports the King’s Trust Team programme by providing academic underpinning, delivering basic skills tuition and helping learners build the knowledge, confidence and skills needed for future progression.
- Learning Plans & Progress Monitoring – Establishes individual learning plans, carries out reviews, evaluations and assessments, and monitors learner development to ensure progress and achievement of personal goals.
- Programme Recruitment & Community Engagement – Assists with learner recruitment and promotes the King’s Trust Team programme to employers and community organisations to enhance participation and opportunities.
- Administration, Compliance & Health & Safety – Maintains accurate records, attends meetings, undertakes risk assessments for placements and activities, and ensures learners comply with health and safety requirements.
- Professional Development & Safeguarding – Participates in training, appraisal and continuous development activities while upholding safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion and health & safety responsibilities across all aspects of the role.
About you:
- Qualifications & Core Knowledge – GCSE English (or equivalent) with willingness to achieve GCSE Maths, supported by a good general education and relevant Level 3 qualifications. Demonstrates knowledge of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, safeguarding principles, health & safety requirements and work placement processes.
- Experience & Programme Understanding – Experience managing challenging behaviour, supporting learners in a variety of settings and understanding the needs of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Knowledge of King’s Trust Team programmes and safeguarding practices is advantageous.
- Learner Support & Communication Skills – Able to deliver Basic Skills support, motivate learners, build confidence and establish positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively face-to-face, by telephone and in writing.
- Organisation & Teamwork – Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, contribute positively to team objectives and uphold the College’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness and Honesty.
- Professionalism & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and continuous development, with the flexibility to travel between locations and maintain awareness of health & safety requirements.
