JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The role of the Engine Maintenance Technician is to support the rectification and recovery of the RSAF Tornado fleet to serviceable status and maintaining an active flying program through effective and efficient maintenance and production of RB199 engines
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Maintaining good engineering practices and compliance with RSAF Technical Orders in all aspects of the Jet Engine work area and Aircraft Maintenance Organization, i.e on aircraft or component maintenance.
· Component Maintenance including: inspection, surveys, evaluation, install, repairs, troubleshooting, servicing, overhaul, modification and on-aircraft system testing.
· Ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the standards and procedures detailed within the MOE.
· Ensures strict tool control is carried out in accordance with tool control procedures.
· Managing spare parts requirements using GOLDesp logistics system.
· Be able to provide functional guidance to the SNTTP programs in respect of any engineering issues that may arise.
· Carry out TCTO’s and Special inspections when directed.
· Conduct inspections of engines utilizing visual aids
· Action work orders for any unscheduled arisings identified during maintenance utilising the GOLDesp system
· Manage and maintain accurate daily work recording diaries.
· Providing up to date briefings and information to all concerned parties on daily progress and any issues affecting on-going maintenance activities
· Provide support and input to the on-site Rolls Royce personnel in the raising of TQ’s, DDRs, and maintenance activities.
· Ensure that all personal authorizations remain current for any maintenance activities being conducted.
· Utilise knowledge and experience associated with aircraft maintenance, quality assurance, logistical support and company procedures
· Provide Line Technical Support to the RSAF on engineering matters
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· A recognized qualification to NVQ/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
· Substantial post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training.
· Be fluent in English.
· Must be a quality minded, mature, individual that adopts a positive and proactive approach to aircraft maintenance and support issues
· Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels
· Be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce
· Must be able to work on his own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
· Relevant type training (Q Course) and specific training if required
· Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health and safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
· The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA. SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role
Desirable:
· Knowledge of company processes and procedures.
· Knowledge of EASA Part 145.
· Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
· Hold an understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to his work area
· First line engine and/or SPS maintenance experience
