Role: Transport and Compliance System Coordinator
Location: Shuttleworth College – Old Warden Campus with occasional potential travel to other sites
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £27,717 and £32,515 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Transport and Compliance System Coordinator to join our Estates and Facilities department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Transport Service Coordination & Delivery - Manage the day-to-day operation of student transport services, coordinating external bus, minibus, and taxi providers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient transport for students.
- Stakeholder Communication & Support - Act as the main point of contact for transport-related enquiries, providing clear information to students, parents, staff, and transport providers while managing incidents, complaints, and service disruptions.
- Operational Planning & Continuous Improvement - Support route planning, timetable management, capacity reviews, and service enhancements to improve safety, efficiency, value for money, and the overall student experience.
- Compliance Systems & Reporting - Maintain and update Estates compliance software, manage records, produce reports, monitor system issues, and support the effective use of maintenance and compliance systems across the Group.
- Collaboration, Compliance & Professional Standards - Work closely with Estates, Safeguarding, Admissions, Finance, and Curriculum teams, ensuring all activities comply with safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, and organisational policies while contributing to continuous improvement.
About you:
- Relevant Experience & Technical Capability - Experience in Estates, Facilities, Transport, Compliance, or similar operational environments, with strong customer service skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and new software systems.
- Organisation, Planning & Problem Solving - Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, organise resources effectively, and use initiative and creativity to resolve operational issues and improve services.
- Communication & RelationshipBuilding - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the confidence to work with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners at all levels.
- Collaboration & Professional Development - Able to work within procedures and guidelines, contribute to teams and networks, share knowledge through coaching or mentoring, and committed to ongoing training and development.
- Flexibility & Reliability - Proactive, dependable, and adaptable, with a full clean driving licence, access to a vehicle, willingness to travel between sites, work flexible hours, and be contactable when required.
