Role: Admissions Adviser

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £25,585 and £30,915 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking an Admissions Adviser to join our Customer Contact and Admissions department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Admissions Adviser, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Admissions Management & Applicant Conversion - Manage the end-to-end admissions process, including application assessment, offer decisions, interview coordination, eligibility checks, and proactive engagement to maximise conversion from application to enrolment.
  • Information, Advice & Customer Support - Deliver accurate, impartial information and guidance on courses, funding, and college services, providing exceptional customer service across phone, email, online, and face-to-face channels.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Event Delivery - Build strong relationships with curriculum teams and key stakeholders, supporting interviews, applicant events, welcome activities, enrolment events, and recruitment initiatives.
  • Data Management & Process Compliance - Maintain accurate records within CRM and student systems, ensure data integrity, monitor admissions processes, and comply with admissions policies, GDPR, funding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Standards & Continuous Improvement - Contribute to improving customer journeys, support team knowledge sharing, uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety standards, and work flexibly to meet organisational needs and service targets.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Professional Development - Educated to Level 3 with GCSE English and Maths, commitment to ongoing professional development, and willingness to achieve a Level 4 Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) qualification.
  • Admissions, Customer Service & Advisory Experience - Experienced in administration and customer-facing roles, providing advice and guidance through multiple channels while managing competing priorities, targets, and deadlines.
  • Communication, IT & Analytical Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication, strong IT proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to analyse data, learn new systems quickly, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Relationship Building & Professionalism - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and positive relationships, work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and represent the organisation professionally at all times.
  • Flexibility, Safeguarding & Personal Attributes - Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with willingness to travel across campuses, work flexible hours, uphold safeguarding responsibilities, maintain professional boundaries, and continuously develop skills and knowledge.
