JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Operations provides the interface between maintenance, flying operations, technical services, support service suppliers and external organizations, sometimes in rapidly changing situations. Without an effective and timely service from key operations’ roles, air base performance, and potentially RSAF air capability, could be compromised.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Provide Operations Support Service to all 3 RSAF Squadrons and deputising for the Senior Fleet Operations Manager in periods of absence.
· Responsible for the line management of diverse aircraft support workshops and for aircraft maintenance planning and control activities.
· Facilitate and directly support the integration and deployment of the Salam operations service, through the RSAF Command Structure, the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and Maintenance Operations Flight (MOF), the RSAF Training and Operational Squadrons and the Maintenance Organisations.
· Provide Salam headquarters support to the FMSS and GSS teams, in accordance with the Contractual Requirements of Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW, the RFL 47166-2 and the BAESSA M&CA Directorate Mandates.
· Define, present and distribute aircraft configuration standard to meet the requirements of the flying programme.
· Produce agree and maintain flying programmes for Typhoon aircraft at KFdAB in line with the contracted Baseline Flying Program (BFP).
· Provide frequent reporting to support key performance indicators for the Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW covering overall flying hours’ achievement and operational readiness.
· Awareness of the maintenance planning philosophy. Understand the distinctive terms used within it and how it relates to your role.
· Provide support to all Taif Operational & Management reviews.
· Build and maintain a constructive and trusting relationship with the RSAF Customer, MODSAP, RAF and Typhoon core programme personnel.
· Support and provide inputs to estimates at completion (EAC) process and on-going resource plans to meet the requirements of the Annex B to Typhoon LOA 2 SoW.
· Provide a structured training programme to support the development of RSAF Operations, HMSS and AEA staff, ensuring that competence is assessed on arrival and at least 2-yearly thereafter, in accordance with M&CA Mandates.
· Support on-going Engineering and Life Cycle Management activities including the definition of engineering change and capability insertion.
· Ensure all Operations, HMSS and AEA staff comply with formal SHE training.
· Develop and adhere to local SHE plans, reporting on hazardous occurrences including accident /incident collation and reporting using the BAE Systems SORT and RSAF GS002, FS005 processes as appropriate.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or Engineering Discipline or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA, OR
· Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA and Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) Registration.
· Extensive experience in CA environment, including significant direct experience of supporting or maintaining fleets of aircraft.
· Substantial management experience of military aircraft maintenance.
· An Awareness level of knowledge of the aircraft types managed and an Awareness level of Fleet Planning skills.
· A Practitioner level of knowledge of the operations environment and of maintenance performed in workshops.
· A Practitioner level of operations’ management skills and a Practitioner level of experience of aviation support services.
Desirable
· NVQ5/BTEC/HND or Degree in a relevant technical discipline, acceptable to M&CA.
· Incorporated or Technician Engineer with an appropriate professional institute such as Royal Aeronautical Society or Institute of Engineering & Technology.
· Knowledge of BAES Saudi Arabia and the Royal Saudi Air Force.
· Broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
