Role Description:

As the Physical Integration Engineer, you will deliver compliant and mature conceptual designs of Combat Systems’ owned compartments, in accordance with program requirements and schedule.

You will contribute to and participate in technical reviews and working groups and provide solutions to design issues raised by detailed design and production teams.

Core Duties:

  • Work with engineering managers and technical leaders to mature the spatial design of combat systems compartments in accordance with system and program requirements
  • Work collaboratively with the detailed design team to manage tradeoffs between functional design intent and physical constraints
  • Evaluate supplier equipment data with respect to it’s physical integration, including the identification of design impacts and risks
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of multi-disciplinary technical issues
  • Develop cable schematics & schedules
  • Interrogate, troubleshoot & manage design data and objects

Essential Skills:

  • Experience working with ships is considered desirable
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is considered highly desirable
  • Experience in technical integration is considered essential
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
