JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

To perform the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS) Reference Data Management function as part of the TSC Data Integrity Team (DIT) within the ESS Data Management Team, based in the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) in Taif, KSA on behalf of the RSAF, reporting to the Typhoon Weapon System Data Manager.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Managing the DIT, within the TSC, to ensure the timely provision and correct management of Reference Data required by the ESS, ensuring the data is embodied in a timely manner to operate and maintain the aircraft efficiently.
· Provide a focal point for all data changes within the ESS for both Industry (via Typhoon Technical Support Services (TTSS)) and the RSAF, implementing a stringent data policy regime, ensuring confidence across the TSC area in support of the flying programme and data analysis requirements of the In-Service Data Management Team.
· Assess all ESS database amendments and implement them as authorised by the RSAF HQ. Test Reference and Business data changes before implementation into the live ESS system. Resolve user data issues and support data queries, using the live ESS instance.
· Resolve Reference Data queries, defining amendments or issuing new data, together with issuing an implementation plan, authorising manual or automatic script file changes.
· To prime the ESS ready for newly delivered aircraft and capabilities, testing and checking all new reference and business data deliveries, on behalf of the RSAF HQ.
· To assess/compare data integrity relating to aircraft and component life stored on the separate systems of the ESS and Technical Publications.
· Analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Analysis Team in order to identify trends or problem areas to determine ESS Data recovery action.
· To make RSAF approved changes to Industry provided data when this data does not conform to RSAF policies or might impact on the operation or maintenance of the aircraft.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of TSC Processes and Procedures relating to ESS Data Integrity.
· Carry out assessments of ESS functionality from a Reference Data perspective and, where required, make recommendations to RSAF HQ for ESS functionality improvements.
· Undertaking any additional, reasonable, tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF management.
· Provide direct support to the Typhoon Weapon System Data Manager, and act as a deputy if required.
· Assisting with the structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National ESS Reference Data Management staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· Qualified to degree level (or with HND/HNC plus extensive practical experience supported by formal, recorded workplace training) in an Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical engineering discipline, with significant experience of a design and support engineering organisation within an aircraft related industry.
· Must have experience in managing approved data sets.
· Must have in-depth knowledge of Aircraft Reference Data and Business Data principles and practices, the relationship between the data types and the requirements for continuing airworthiness management in terms of Data Management.
· Must be capable of managing multiple simultaneous programs, working to tight deadlines, with multiple stakeholder inputs.
· Capable of managing a multi-skilled, multi-national team, integrating it into a virtual, multi agency, team, which may be geographically dispersed.
· Proficient in strategic thinking and able to communicate ideas and solutions across the management command chain.
· A seasoned knowledge of data management presentation techniques.
Desirable:
· Experience of Typhoon or other fast jet platform.
· Experience in an aircraft military support/maintenance environment at Supervisory level.
· Knowledge of the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS). Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes. Familiarity with the TeamCenter application as a user.
