Salary: Circa £41,000 depending on experience

Job Description:

This role is responsible for ensuring that programme quality requirements are consistently met across all stages of the product lifecycle. Acting as the primary focal point for customer quality concerns, you will investigate issues thoroughly and produce detailed failure and repair reports, while taking ownership of resolving quality challenges through the structured application of problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques. This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop expertise in quality within a manufacturing environment, including exposure to non-conformance management, auditing, and verification and validation processes.

Core duties:

  • Ensuring program quality requirements are met through all aspects of the product lifecycle
  • Taking responsibility for the resolution of quality issues through the structured application of problem solving and root cause analysis techniques
  • Primary focal point for customer quality concerns including investigating and writing failure and repair reports
  • Supporting customer and regulatory audits to ensure compliance to contractual flow downs and sector accreditations
  • Working with key stakeholders. Leading continuous improvement initiatives within projects and across operations to support the strategic goals of the site
  • This opportunity will allow the applicant to gain further knowledge and experience in the Quality role within the manufacturing lifecycle, processes including non-conformance management, auditing, Verification and Validation

Essential Skills:

  • Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or time served in a similar role (HNC/Degree)
  • Knowledge and understanding of modern Manufacturing Engineering practices, tools and technology gained from experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in interpreting engineering drawings to create manufacturing assembly instructions/standard operating procedures
  • Demonstrable success in utilising Lean manufacturing tools and techniques in the context of process improvement, cost savings or waste elimination
  • Familiarity of AutoCAD or similar CAD packages

The Quality Team:

Exciting opportunities exist within the Operations Technical Support function to work as part of an integrated team comprising of Quality, manufacturing and Production Engineers working on products manufactured at our Electronic Systems site in Rochester.
