Role: Training Coordinator – Engineering
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £30,915 and £41,085 per annum DOE and Qualificationsplus a Market Supplement up to £10,000 per annum, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator in Engineering to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Training Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Apprenticeship Delivery & Learner Journey – Manage end‑to‑end apprenticeship delivery, ensuring learners are effectively inducted, supported and guided to achieve timely completion and successful End Point Assessment.
- Assessment, Coaching & Progress Reviews – Conduct initial assessments, deliver high‑quality teaching and blended learning, carry out workplace reviews, and provide coaching and mentoring to drive learner progression.
- Employer Engagement & Programme Planning – Build strong relationships with employers, coordinate planning meetings, ensure alignment between job roles and standards, and provide regular progress updates.
- Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement – Maintain accurate documentation, ensure compliance with funding and quality standards, contribute to IQA processes, and use learner feedback to enhance provision.
- Collaboration, Development & Professional Practice – Work closely with internal teams and support services, contribute to curriculum innovation and enrichment, uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety, and travel flexibly to employer sites as required.
About you:
- Qualifications & Technical Expertise – Level 4 qualification (or significant industry experience) in Engineering disciplines, with GCSE English and maths (Grade 4+) and an Assessor qualification (TAQA or equivalent).
- Industry Experience & Programme Delivery – Recent commercial or industrial background with experience designing and delivering training and assessment programmes using varied teaching methods.
- Assessment, Caseload & Coordination – Skilled in managing learner caseloads, planning schedules and maintaining accurate records to meet DfE and audit requirements while ensuring timely learner progression.
- Communication, IT & Stakeholder Engagement – Strong communication and report‑writing skills, confident IT user of Microsoft Office and VLEs, able to engage effectively with learners, employers and stakeholders.
- Professional Practice, Flexibility & Values – Proactive, organised and reliable, committed to safeguarding, EDI and continuous improvement, able to work independently and flexibly travel across regions to meet programme demands.
