Responsibilities:
· To maintain and repair defects in the ships Electrical Power Generation and
· Distribution Systems, Bow Thrusters Electrical Control Equipment, Wind, Speed and Direction Equipment, Air conditioning plant, electrical supply and backup systems for weapons/electronics equipment, domestic and life support electrical supply, motors, starters and all auxiliary and ancillary electrical plant and fittings.
· .To maintain and repair defects in SPCS and MCAS, to support Al Jawf Class
Minehunters.
· To maintain and repair defects in the MK12 Compass and MINS 2 GYRO to support Al Jawf Class Minehunters.
· To maintain and repair defects in ships Hull Vibration Monitoring Equipment (HVME) To support Al Jawf Class Minehunters.
· To undertake other duties as assigned on Al Jawf Class Minehunters.
· To comply with all RSNF directives, safety procedures and Codes of Practice.
· To observe confidentiality of RSNF data at all times.
· 8.To deploy with the Forward Support Unit as required, and to work shift patterns to provide full technical support for the ships. Accommodation during deployment will be within the FSU complex.
· The RSNF may designate this billet as a training billet. The incumbent will be
· required to impart his knowledge of position-related skills, duties, and responsibilities in such a manner as permit assimilation on the part of the RSNF trainee.
Job Requirements:
· Five (5) years electrical engineering experience, including three (3) years expertise in Ship Positional Control System (SPCS) and Machinery Control and Surveillance Console (MCAS) is desirable. In addition, a good working knowledge of the electrical equipment fitted to the “Sandown” class ships is desirable. Substantial workshop experience, military or commercial, would be suitable.
