Management Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated, adaptable and analytical management accountant to join our growing, talented finance team. This role will play an important part in ensuring accurate monthly reporting, a robust control environment and providing key insights into business performance. The successful candidate will need to have a detailed orientated mentality, have excellent communication, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Works Closely With: Finance Director, Director of Finance Operations, CFO, M&A Team, Managing Directors

Salary: £45k-£55k based on experience

Location: Teddington - Office Based

Key Responsibilities

Monthly management accounts:
Preparing, reviewing and uploading month end journals in relation to accruals, prepayments, revenue, expenditure and other balance sheet accounts.
Reviewing monthly profit and loss accounts and prepare variance analysis.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure balance sheet integrity.
Maintenance of the fixed asset registers.


Year end:
Collate and prepare balance sheet reconciliations for submission to the Group’s auditors.
Prepare statutory financial statements for Group entities.
Liaise directly with the Group’s auditors to resolve promptly queries and issues.
Preparation of analysis for submission to the Group’s tax advisor in order to prepare corporation tax returns.


Acquisitions:
Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into group reporting standards and systems.


Budget:
Work with the wider team in preparing the annual budget.


Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting processes.


Project Support:
Provide financial support and analysis for special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
● Qualified or part qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
● Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a multi-site organisation
● Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in formulas, macros, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.

● Proven ability to improve processes.
