Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

£45,000 - £55,000 yearly

Job Description

*Lead with Compassion. Inspire Change.*

At Brighter Horizons Care & Support (BHCS), we are passionate about giving children and young people the stability, care, and opportunity they deserve. As a *Registered Manager*, this will be a New 4 bed home, you will lead from the front — shaping the culture, quality, and direction of a home where young people can heal, grow, and succeed.

We are a small, family-run organisation — not a corporate chain. Our approach is personal, values-led, and centred on providing real care, not just ticking boxes. If you are an experienced, qualified Registered Manager ready to lead a service with integrity and ambition, this is your opportunity to make a genuine difference while being valued and supported.

*Your Role*

As the Registered Manager, you will:

* Hold full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and safeguarding legislation.
* Lead, inspire, and develop a committed residential care team.
* Promote a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach that places the child at the centre of all practice.
* Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and placement matching to ensure positive outcomes.
* Manage budgets, staffing structures, rotas, and supervisions effectively.
* Drive continuous improvement through audits, monitoring, and reflective practice.
* Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.
* Build strong, professional relationships with placing authorities, families, and external agencies.

*About You*

We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader who shares our ethos of compassion, accountability, and high standards.

You *will* have:

* *Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (essential).*
* Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home.
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted Quality Standards and Children’s Homes Regulations.
* Proven leadership and staff development experience.
* A track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A calm, reflective leadership style.
* Full UK driving licence.

*Why Work With BHCS?*

We believe in looking after our leaders as much as our young people. You will be part of a supportive, close-knit organisation where your voice matters and your leadership makes a direct impact.

We offer:

* Competitive salary
* Monday–Friday 9–5 working pattern
* On-call responsibilities paid in addition
* Overtime and sleep-in payments (where applicable)
* Supportive and accessible senior leadership
* Genuine progression opportunities as we expand
* Wellbeing and reflective practice support
* Recognition for your dedication and achievements

*Essential Requirements:*

* NVQ Level 5 in leadership and management
* Deputy (Senior position is allowed if the organisation doesn't run Deputy Managers) or Registered management experience for at least 2 years.
