Job Description
As a Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the your room (we currently have vacancies in the baby, toddler and preschool room), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can develop and thrive. You will lead a team of practitioners, plan age-appropriate activities, and work closely with parents and colleagues to deliver high-quality early years care and education.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Lead the room team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to staff.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety policies.
* Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
* Monitor and support the developmental progress of each child, maintaining accurate records and learning journals.
* Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers through regular communication and meetings.
* Support children’s emotional well-being, independence, and social development through consistent routines and positive reinforcement.
* Conduct key person responsibilities, including settling in new children and liaising with families.
* Work closely with the nursery manager and other room leaders to maintain high standards of care and education.
* Participate in regular staff meetings, training, and development opportunities.
* Promote inclusive practices, ensuring that every child’s individual needs are met.
* Carry out daily risk assessments and ensure all health and safety requirements are upheld.
* Ensure the room is well-resourced, organized, and reflective of the children's interests and needs.
