Job Purpose:
As a Technician / Trainer Type II, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP), to train RSAF/SNTTP Trainee Technicians from Skill Level 3 Qualified to Skill Level 7 Qualified, in accordance with RSAF Training Policies, Procedures, Plans, Directives and Documents, ensuring maximum use of available resources and using “Best Practice” Principles in order to ensure excellence in Training delivery and outcomes.
To mentor newly qualified RSAF and Saudi National (SN) Technicians within the Secondary Calibration Squadron (SCS), Dhahran, functioning as the first level knowledge expert within MetCal designated Mechanical or Electrical measurement areas. To act as a “Subject Matter Expert” in areas of allocated responsibilities and provide sound advice and guidance to RSAF/SN Metrology Technicians on an “On-Going” and “As Required” basis.
To safely and competently perform Calibration, Adjustments, Alignments, Repairs and Maintenance to the RSAF Inventory of Test, Measuring and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) associated with Aircraft platforms, Weapons, Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and Standard Support Equipment (SSE) in accordance with the RSAF Metrology Quality Manual (RSAFM 4-7702).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to manage resources available to ensure the timely and efficient accomplishment of assigned and routine tasks, in accordance with RSAFI 4-7702, MetCal Wing Quality Manual, and other appropriate RSAF directives as directed by the Squadron Commander, Superintendent and immediate Supervisor.
Ensure that Laboratory Standards are maintained in good working order.
Maintain current knowledge in MetCal related methodology and techniques and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned areas of responsibility.
Technically assist immediate Supervisor/s with the implementation of the RSAF Training Program as detailed in the RSAF 105- Series of Manuals and in accordance RSAF Metrology Quality Manual (RSAFM 4-7168).
Ensure that allocated areas of responsibility are kept clean and tidy and that all tools and safety equipment are maintained in good working order.
Deputise for, and understudy, Supervisor, as and when required.
Carry out any other legitimate, legal task, as directed and/or assigned by the Squadron Commander, Deputy Squadron Commander, Superintendent and immediate Supervisors.
Provide, to RSAF and SN technicians at all competence levels, during normal and daily laboratory operations the following:
To ensure knowledge transfer to enhance RSAF and SNTTP technician production performance and On Job Training (OJT) knowledge requirements required within the SCS.
Recruitment Specification:
Will be educated to at least Ordinary National Certificate level or equivalent in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering or other appropriate qualifications agreed with the MetCal Wing Commander.
You will have successfully completed formal training, with comprehensive amount of time directed towards the calibration, repair and alignment of either Electrical or Mechanical, Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) a knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical calibration would be advantageous.
Extensive practical experience involved in the calibration and repair of Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and RSAF specific TMDE used in the support of military aircraft systems. Must be fully conversant with the requirements of RSAFI 4-7702, MetCal Wing Quality Manual and be familiar with the contents of RSAF Manual 105-8 (Training), RSAF Manual 67-1 (Supply), RSAF Manual 78-series (Safety) and a good understanding of ISO 17025.
Incumbent requires experienced managerial and engineering judgment, creativity, initiative and leadership skills including a practical knowledge of Metrology.
An ability to communicate with high level RSAF and BAE Systems personnel both orally and in writing using proper tact, protocol and diplomacy, and to draft technical procedures, reports and technician evaluations as directed. Must possess a high standard of personal integrity and fully committed to working to a high standard of ethical behaviour.
Performance in this post requires you to be computer literate and an experienced user of the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Access). In this role, you will be expected to be proactive in planning resources to match future tasks, excellent organisational skills, show initiative and establish successful working relationships with the RSAF.
