Location: The Corby Sixth Form
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £26,754 (Pro-Rata) per annum DOE and Qualifications, People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 25 hours per week – 40 weeks per year

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Centre Administrator to join our Central Administration department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Central Administrator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Front‑of‑House & Customer Service– Act as the first point of contact for the Sixth Form, answering calls, welcoming visitors, issuing and producing ID cards, and delivering high‑quality customer service in line with Service Standards.
- Administrative Support & Document Production – Provide professional admin support including producing agendas, minutes, letters, reports and emails, arranging trips, managing stationery and post, and supporting staff across the Sixth Form.
- Data & Systems Management – Maintain accurate student data; use college systems such as ProSolution; support Exams and Student Data with registrations, progression, certificates, and invigilation tasks.
- Cross‑Departmental Support– Assist teams across the department and wider College as required, completing tasks assigned by the Centre Administration Team Leader or Group Head of Administration.
- Compliance, Safeguarding & Professional Standards – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and training requirements while maintaining a professional, organised and supportive service to students, staff and visitors.
About you:
- Qualifications & ITSkills – Good general education including GCSE English (A*–C), Level 2 IT qualification (ITQ/ECDL/RSA II or equivalent), Level 2 Maths (or willingness to achieve), and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and internet use.
- Administrative & Customer Service Experience – Experience working in office and customer‑focused environments, confident with manual and computerised systems, willing to take minutes, and able to assimilate course information to support customers effectively.
- Accuracy, Organisation & Workload Management – Strong attention to detail for proofreading, accurate data entry, managing busy workloads, organising files (paper and electronic), producing quality reports, and consistently meeting deadlines.
- Communication, Teamwork & Professional Values – Excellent communication skills across all channels, ability to work independently and as part of a team, uphold organisational values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty), and maintain professionalism in representing the College.
- Safeguarding, Flexibility & Practical Requirements – Commitment to safeguarding, maintaining appropriate boundaries, updating skills, flexible working times/locations, awareness of H&S, willingness to travel, and ability to support events such as Parents’ Evenings and Open Days.
