JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Reporting to the Fleet Planning Lead, the Fleet Planning Specialist is responsible for compiling Tornado utilisation data and using it to generate the Tornado Tactical and Strategic Fleet Plans with other members of the Fleet Management Advisory Service (FMAS).
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Develop short, medium and long term plans for scheduled maintenance.
· Maintain a flying hour stagger to demonstrate appropriate separation of aircraft for orderly induction into phased maintenance without parking or bunching.
· Provide a suitable overview of current compliance status with regard to Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs) or Special Inspections (SIs).
· Monitor main causes of Ground Abort and in-flight system failure using Tapestry Solutions GOLDesp, for consideration by Reliability and Maintainability.
· Track persistent non-fliers, for potential advice to the customer or the proactive recommendation of involvement of Line Technical Support (LTS) Team.
· Assist the Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) and Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Coordinator during busy periods and deputise for Fleet Planning Lead when required.
· Carry out training/mentoring for less experienced workplace colleagues
· Understands the M&CA Regulatory Framework and its applicability to Fleet Planning processes and activities.
· Ability to communicate, influence and support the decision making process at all levels.
· Able to build good relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisation, Suppliers and other key stakeholders.
· Experience of multi–tasking to manage a wide range of activities at differing levels of maturity.
· An awareness of ITAR is required.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
· A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
· Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance/CA experience supported by a formal record, including experience within a relevant CA role.
· Be able to demonstrate a Practitioner level of skills in Fleet Planning and Aircraft Maintenance Programme, plus a Familiar level of skills in Reliability Programme and Modifications management.
· Be able to describe or demonstrate a familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.
· Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.
· Capable of working independently, or as part of a team, under pressure and to tight operational timescales.
· Must be well organised with an eye for detail and accuracy.
· Fluent in speaking and written English.
· To be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels.
· Be able to resolve highly complex technical issues on his own initiative.
· Have experience in a relevant management role.

· Saudi Engineering Council (SEC) registration
· Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed) or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA
· Have operational knowledge and understanding of the platform contract, the fleet’s performance and the business key performance metrics.
· Hold a broad aerospace and defence company / industry knowledge.
