Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support and execute our digital and general marketing initiatives. This is a hands-on role covering paid advertising, SEO, website management, content development, social media, and broader marketing support. The ideal candidate is organised, data-driven and comfortable working across multiple marketing channels. The role helps promote our brand, engage our audience and support campaigns that align with our organisation’s mission. The Marketing Assistant will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with the wider team.
The role is 3 days per week and hybrid, with the expectation of working one day in the office every fortnight.
Key Responsibilities
Paid Advertising (PPC & Ad Platforms)
- Set up, manage, and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads (AdWords), Bing Ads, and relevant social platforms
- Conduct keyword research, write and test ad copy, manage bids and optimise budgets
- Monitor performance and continuously improve CTR, conversions, and ROI
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
- Perform keyword research and competitive analysis
- Optimise on-page SEO including metadata, headings, content structure and internal linking
- Support off-page SEO initiatives such as backlink building and content promotion
- Monitor rankings, organic traffic, and technical SEO issues using industry tools
Website Maintenance & Content Development
- Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, performance and SEO best practices
- Assist with developing new website pages, landing pages and marketing content
- Coordinate with designers, developers, or external vendors as needed
- Ensure website content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives
Social Media Management
- Assist in planning, creating and scheduling social media content across relevant platforms
- Support paid and organic social media campaigns
- Monitor engagement, respond to comments/messages as appropriate and report on performance
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyse performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console and ad platforms
- Prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations
- Use data to inform marketing decisions and ongoing optimization
General Marketing Support
- Assist with email marketing, promotions and campaign execution
- Support brand initiatives, product launches and marketing collateral development
- Provide general marketing and administrative support as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in digital marketing or a related role
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads (AdWords) and PPC campaign management
- Working knowledge of SEO principles and tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog)
- Experience maintaining websites and updating content via a CMS (e.g., WordPress)
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Ads and/or Google Analytics certification
- Experience with social media advertising (Meta, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS
- Experience with email marketing platforms and CRM tools
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation and A/B testing
