About the Role:

 

You’ll be leading the engineering of products which are genuinely recognised as the best in the world (search BAE Cross Domain Solutions for more info).   Leading Projects, you’ll have one or two direct reports, working across our programme portfolio.   The programmes are time constrained and your role is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the resources.  You will be technically competent and understand how to direct multi-disciplined teams to develop highly complex products.

 

 

 

Essential requirements for applicants

  • Technically credible (although not hands on) with FPGA, C++, VHDL.
  • Product delivery experience. Managing software/hardware engineering projects.
  • Security Clearance:  Qualify for full, unrestricted, UK Security Clearance.
  • You’ll need to be a UK National, either from birth, or naturalised as well as being a permanent UK Resident for the last 5 years. 
  • Due to security clearance requirements for this position we are unable to consider dual nationals and non-UK nationals for this particular role.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Responsibility for management & delivery of engineering projects consisting of a number of major engineering systems, disciplines, platforms, assemblies, equipment or software products.

 

Management & integration of multi-disciplined engineering teams; leadership of engineering resources, delivery of packages of  work/services, involving new products and/or complex upgrades, utilising new and existing technologies, requiring multiple interfaces with customers/suppliers or partners.

 

Delivery of projects to meet customer and contractual obligations for cost, quality, timeliness and specification, resolution of engineering conflicts between disciplines, systems and capabilities.

 

Integration and solution development to meet a coherent and prioritised set of demands, tailor and apply engineering processes, tools and approaches to develop innovative and creative solutions to contracts and specifications.

 

Sign off for design, legal and technical requirements for projects

About the Team

 

The Cross-Domain product development and solutions team is a close knit engineering team within BAE Systems – Digital Intelligence operating in a dynamic market. The team is responsible for the development of world-leading hardware based network security and communication appliances that operate at multi-gigabit speeds.

 

 

Cross-Domain customers include a variety of government departments and defence, telecommunications and critical national infrastructure companies. Cross-Domain have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager to lead and co-ordinate the engineering team for key projects, ensuring the accreditation and timely delivery of the solutions being implemented.
