Role: Work Placement Coordinator

Location: Tresham College – Corby Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is £25,585 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Work Placement Coordinator to join our Student Services department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Work Placement Coordinator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Placement Sourcing & Coordination – Assist in identifying and securing relevant work experience and industry placements for students across study programmes and T Levels.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance – Ensure placements meet health, safety, and safeguarding standards, and comply with FE funding and awarding body requirements.
  • Monitoring & Communication – Track student progress during placements, maintain accurate records, and provide timely feedback to curriculum teams and leadership.
  • Collaboration & Engagement – Work closely with internal teams and external employers to generate high-quality opportunities and respond to placement-related enquiries.
  • Professional Standards & Statutory Duties – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety policies, contribute to audits and inspections, and support promotional activities like open days.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Experience – Holds Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, with experience handling employer enquiries and coordinating work placements, supported by strong performance in previous roles.
  • Knowledge & Guidance – Understands Health and Safety legislation and HSE standards, and can provide accurate advice to employers and placement organisations while maintaining detailed records and reports.
  • Communication & Relationship Building – Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, forming positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Professionalism & Values – Works in line with college values such as Customer Focus and Respect, consistently creating a welcoming environment and promoting the college’s reputation.
  • Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to safeguarding responsibilities, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and willing to work flexibly across all Bedford College Group locations in Northamptonshire.
