This is an exciting time at bpha as we look to introduce our in-house maintenance service for the first time in the organisation’s 30+ year history. Finding the right people that share our passion for an excellent customer experience and our ambition to grow this service and embrace the opportunities that it will present, is hugely important to us. 

As a carpenter, you will be expected to have relevant training, experience, and trade skills to cover a wide range of carpentry related repairs within our customers’ homes, ensuring that the repairs required are diagnosed correctly, and works completed are to a high standard and quality. This role will be delivered on a rota basis. 

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Delivering a service which understands the needs of our customers and delivers a positive outcome for them. 

  • Adherence to all policies, procedures, processes, controls, systems, required training and record keeping. 

  • Attend all required training, toolbox talks, one to ones, appraisals, and any other work-related events that you are invited to, embracing the opportunity for challenge, personal growth, and development. 

  • Ensuring that all company owned property is properly maintained, cared for, respected, and remains fit for purpose at all times. 

  • Being professional, courteous, empathetic, adaptable, self-motivated, take pride and ownership of your work, able to resolve problems you encounter, deliver a high-quality repair, and provide an excellent customer experience every time. 

 

We’d love to meet someone with: 

  • Ideally educated to GCSE or equivalent levels 

  • NVQ level 2 or higher Carpentry 

  • Excellent knowledge of carpentry and joinery within a domestic home and communal areas, with proven experience is diagnosing, repairing, and resolving issues 

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in repairing UPVC door & window components. 

  • Good and relevant health and safety knowledge 

  • A strong, demonstrable commitment to excellence in customer service 

  • IT skills suitable for carrying out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device 

  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge in other construction trades and activities, being able to deliver repairs outside of your core trade when required 

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in at least one other construction trade to an intermediate level
