Job Description

Thank you for your interest in working as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Early Childhood Education is a regulated field in Newfoundland and Labrador, requiring certification from the Association of Early Childhood Educators of Newfoundland and Labrador. (https://www.aecenl.ca/). You will need a degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent demonstrated by an Educational Credential Assessment.

In order to work as an ECE in the province you will need to submit an initial application for certification to AECENL (https://www.aecenl.ca/index.php/certification/initial-certification).

Once you have successfully obtained certification please contact attraction@gov.nl.ca, include a copy of your AECENL certificate and your resume, with the subject line "AstronautJobs - Early Childhood Education NL". We can then connect you with employers in the province. 

Job Requirements

·         Currently enrolled or graduated from Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree Program

·         AECENL Certification

·         Experience working in early learning or equivalent experience providing child care

·         Food Handlers Certificate is considered an asset

·         American Sign Language (ASL) is considered an asset

·         Current Standard First Aid

·         Willing to obtain a Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sectors Check

·         Willing to relocate to Newfoundland and Labrador
