Job Description

As part of the Sikla Group, established in 1967, our business comprises of premium steel framing solutions and pipe supports for many industries including Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Energy from Waste and Power Generation. Over the last 20 years Sikla UK has engineered and designed for projects supplied in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Mainland Europe and beyond.   

You will join Sikla UK as part of a well-established Engineering office in Milton Keynes.  

Teamwork and proactive communication are crucial for you to succeed in this role. 

Your key duties and responsibilities

  • Assess, design and ratify structural framing systems using Sikla steelwork
  • Review customer requirements to ensure designs are fit for purpose
  • Read and digest Engineering drawings to extrapolate data therein
  • Produce structural calculation reports
  • Produce comprehensive manufacturing drawings and 3D models  
  • Prepare job notes and procedures for correct implementation of Sikla products
  • Manage interactions between Sikla and client engineering team
  • Manage concurrent projects and their deliverables
  • Collaborate and lead high-value satellite offices on larger-scale projects
  • Provide ongoing technical support for other Sikla colleagues
  • Daily collaboration with regional Engineering teams from UK, USA & Oceania
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain, Business Development to ensure satisfactory designs and budgets 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural or Mechanical)
  • Autodesk Suite – AutoCAD 2D / 3D, Navisworks
  • Proficient in Structural Analysis – (e.g. Tekla TEDDS, STAAD Pro, RSTAB)
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) concept and methodology (preferred)
  • Ability to prioritise and work outside the prescribed roles
  • Willing to adopt new business initiatives as part of a growing organisation
  • Familiarity with applicable Structural Eurocode and how to apply them to analysis 

Package

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
