Job Type: Onsite – Inhouse/External

Location: Ashford, Kent

 

Main Purpose of the role:

We are seeking DC Electrification Apprentices to carry out DC Electrification work as required by your Supervisor in Charge, Hand-Back or Project Manager.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a DC Electrification Apprentice you will:

  • Adjusting, replacing and installing conductor rails.
  • Installation of insulator pots and cables.
  • Drilling and tapping of rails.
  • Fabrication and jointing of cables.
  • Installation of Hook Switches and Track Disconnectors.
  • Interpret drawings.

Candidate Requirements and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be committed to completing an NVQ level 2 in Track Engineering with a view to further developing their career with an NVQ level 3 in Track Engineering. To be successful in the role he /she will need good communication skills both written and verbal to excel.
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths C grade or equivalent (Good verbal/written communication and numeracy skills).
  • Ability to work well as a team with all members of the company.
  • Physically fit to meet the physical demands of working on track.
  • Willingness to work nights or days depending on projects. Some weekend work maybe required due to the nature of our 24/7 in 365-day operations.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Good people skills to work across a diverse multi-ethnic.
  • To be professional and always present a positive image.
  • Fulfil time keeping and attendance expectations.
