Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Multiple Locations (depending on where you reside) - London, Rotheram, Newport

Shift Schedule:
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

Main Purpose of the position:

We are looking for Welders to join our GPX Team to provide welding services, deliver rail maintenance and grinding activities for our clients.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • To carry out skill certification evidence at all times whilst on duty.
  • To cast aluminothermic welds into track as directed.
  • Direct welding assistants  as required.
  • Mentor trainee welder to full competency.
  • Carry out initial inspections on completion of welding to demine correct integrity, geometry and fitness for safe passage of trains.
  • Work at all time to ensure that there is no danger to co-workers, public and surround infrastructure.
  • Check and conform that the worksite is left in a safe and tidy condition.
  • To carry out electric arc welding on running rails, conductor rails, switches, crossings and other track components as directed.
  • Undertake indicative non-destructive testing and initial weld inspection.
  • Keep up to date with welding technology and new processes.
  • Adhere to all company policies and uphold company values at all times.
  • Champion a “team spirit” that supports the company values and encourages fun and professionalism.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working in the welding industry.
  • CSWIP qualification in welding instruction.
  • Basic computer skills (word, excel and Outlook).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team building skills.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Registration as a Master Welder Instructor.
  • Basic Health and Safety qualification.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) - Desirable.
  • Track Induction (TIC) - Desirable.
