Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: London, UK

Shift Schedule: Varied shift patterns either Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday (days, nights and weekend works). Flexibility (availability for possessions) is required for this role.

 

Main Purpose of the role:

We are seeking Licensed T002/T003 Track Handbacks to deliver maintenance and renewal works across London Underground (LU) and Greater London TFL network (DLR/LO/Tramlink/EL/NR). The Track Handback would carry out hand-back on New Works Modified Asset –T003, Carry out hand-back on Repaired Track – T002 and Inspection of Track– T001.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

As a T002/T003 Track Handback Engineer you will:

  • Work closely with the client’s representative to ensure all work is safely undertaken.
  • Remain at the workplace for the whole shift (where practicable) and ensure that all works are being carried out correctly and safely.
  • At the end of each shift make all necessary checks to ensure the track is fit for traffic.
  • Ensure that ALL necessary paperwork is in place, completed at end of shift and carried to safely hand back the track as Fit for Traffic.
  • Fill out all paperwork required by the client and CCS for each shift completed.
  • Incident reporting as per CCS reporting procedures.
  • Whenever possible/practicable, the T002 will liaise with the SPC to ensure a clear and unambiguous understanding of the requirements of the works, time scales and emergency procedures.
  • Fill out all timesheets clearly and correctly and ensure they are sent in at the correct time.
  • If plant, materials or labour resources are not available for the planned works, this should be reported to the client and CCS management before undertaking the work.
  • Return to CCS office at the end of any shift where there has been an incident/accident. This will apply to any shift unless advised by management that it is not required.
  • Reporting on workforce issues within the specific track maintenance team.

 

Requirement and Qualifications (Essential/Desirable):

  • Extensive experience of working in a track environment or supervisory track role.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of tools and materials used on track.
  • Manual Handling – Essential
  • Worksite Safety Induction (WSI) – Essential
  • Small Tools – Essential
  • LUL Medical or Equivalent (TSW027/TSW028 etc) – Essential
  • Basic Track Awareness (BTA) – Essential
  • T002 (Repaired Asset) or T002/T003 (Modified Asset) licences – Essential
  • T001-T008 Portfolios (any T-series Portfolio)  - Desirable
    • T001 (Patrol Asset) – Desirable
    • T002/3A (Clearances) – Desirable
    • T004 (Junction Work Inspections) – Desirable
    • T005 (Plain Line Inspections) – Desirable
    • T006 (TANC Approved Person) – Desirable
    • T007 (Carpentry) or T008 (Lubricators) – Desirable
  • S1175 (Detailed Cast Crossing Inspector) – Desirable
  • S1176 (Detailed Switch Inspector) – Desirable
  • LU or NR Stressing Technician – Desirable
  • TFL Temporary Rail Joints – Desirable
