Salary: MPR/UPR + TLR1d (including Outer London Allowance), with additional benefits including a well-being cash plan and access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS).

Our Client is looking for a creative, innovative, and dedicated Head of Science to drive achievement, inspire colleagues, and ignite a lifelong love of science in every student.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a well-established and forward-thinking department, supported by a Second in Charge and subject-specific Heads of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The successful candidate will play a key strategic role in shaping the future of science education at the school—building on recent successes and driving further improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Science department

  • Cultivate a culture of collaboration, high expectations, and continuous improvement among staff

  • Ensure consistently high-quality teaching and learning across all science disciplines and key stages

  • Analyse and utilise student performance data to inform planning, intervention, and progress tracking

  • Drive innovation in curriculum design and champion extracurricular opportunities that enhance students’ scientific understanding and engagement

What We’re Looking For:

  • A dynamic and experienced Science educator with proven leadership capabilities or the clear potential to lead

  • Strong subject expertise across one or more scientific disciplines, and a passion for promoting science education

  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and raising standards for all learners

  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff

  • A forward-thinking mindset, eager to contribute to whole-school improvement and innovation
